Grade II Listed - Old Bank House

The Old Bank House Stables is a beautiful Grade II listed property in Aylsham, Norfolk with many visible traditional features such as exposed brick, timber beams and original ironmongery. Although the house was very charming it required a new lease of life and adaptation to suit the clients' needs for later life. Alston Architects proposed converting the lean-to garage, making it habitable, light and bright dining area that connected to the kitchen in the existing house to enable open plan living. High performing insulation, windows and rooflights were used to ensure the extension met modern standards and was as energy efficient as possible. External materials such as stained timber cladding were used to be sympathetic to the main house but modern in feel.
